The SKF VKBA 6556 is a complete wheel bearing kit built around a third-generation hub bearing unit with an integrated ABS sensor, an 80 mm bearing body and a 136 mm five-hole flange. It replaces the original VW Group hub (OE 5WA 407 621, 8V0 498 625, 1K0 498 621) on the MQB and PQ35 platforms, including the VW Golf V, VI and VII, Audi A3, Skoda Octavia and Seat Leon. This is a genuine branded SKF part sold by MECA RB, supplied in its SKF box.
The kit contains the hub bearing unit, the new drive-shaft bolt and the three hub fixing bolts, so the repair is done with fresh, single-use hardware. Always fit new bolts and tighten them to the vehicle manufacturer’s torque values; SKF recommends its special tool VKN 604. A humming or growling noise that rises with speed, or an ABS warning light, are typical signs of a worn bearing. Check your registration or VIN before ordering, as fitment depends on axle and brake options.
