NGK Laser Iridium ILZKBR7B8G spark plugs (set of 4)

Details

A set of four genuine NGK Laser Iridium ILZKBR7B8G spark plugs (NGK stock number 97968), the current NGK reference for this application, sold by MECA RB. The fine 0.6 mm iridium centre electrode and platinum-tipped ground electrode give a stable spark and a slow wear rate. These plugs are fitted to the 1.6 THP turbo petrol engine shared by Mini and PSA: Mini Cooper S / JCW (R55-R61, N14/N18 engines), Peugeot 207 / 208 / 308 / 3008 / 508 / RCZ 1.6 THP and Citroën DS3 / DS4 / DS5 / C4 1.6 THP.

Specifications: M12 x 1.25 thread, 26.5 mm reach, 14 mm bi-hex, flat gasket seat, heat range 7, 5 kOhm resistor, factory gap 0.8 mm (do not re-gap). OE equivalents: BMW / Mini 12 12 7 570 106, 12 12 0 035 531; PSA 5960.L5. ILZKBR7B8G replaces the earlier ILZKBR7B8DG (95770).

Fitting advice: change all four plugs together with a cold engine. Use a thin-wall 14 mm bi-hex spark plug socket, start each plug by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to the torque given by the vehicle manufacturer. Do not use anti-seize grease, because the plating already protects the thread.
