Valeo 438171 (Valeo type D6GS11) is a brand-new 12 V, 1.1 kW starter motor from Valeo’s new original part range, not a remanufactured unit, so no old starter or exchange deposit is required. It has a 10-tooth pinion, anticlockwise rotation, a three-hole 76 mm flange and R 135 position. It replaces VW group OE numbers such as 02Z911023G, 02Z911023E and 02Z911024P. This is a genuine branded Valeo part sold by MECA RB.
Fitting advice: disconnect the battery negative first. Compare the flange, pinion tooth count and connector with the starter you remove. Clean the mounting face and the earth contact, tighten the bolts to the manufacturer’s torque and secure the main cable nut firmly; a loose or corroded cable is a frequent cause of slow cranking.
